Uptown or downtown, a vibrant-colored coat and stylish scarf can only add spirited style and elegant detail to chase away the cold breath of winter.

LOVE the tips in this video and the jackets chosen really offer options to many different body types. Not to mention how awesome they would pair with those Steve Madden pumps!

made some good points about not wearing a cropped coat over a long tunic and not wearing a tie-front sweater under a tie-front jacket because of the extra bulk it adds to your front.

It's very difficult to pick out more of a utilitarian trench coat maitaining both style, warmth and a sense of style, What you presented in the article has provided me with additional tools to achieve the best results. The tips are excellant.

It's so hard to stay warm and look good when I'm short. Thanks for the tips!

There were some great tips in this video, thanks Leigh! I really liked the long bright blue jacket! It would look hot with some skinny jeans and high black boots!

I love that yellow coat at the end of the video! I really want to get a nice trench coat for the spring, but I'm not sure what color to go for. On the one hand, I'd like to pick a bright and springy color like yellow, pink, or green. But, I also would like my coat to be versatile and to stay in style for several seasons, which makes me think that perhaps I should go for a basic khaki. What would you do?
